‘churchianity’?

found out that word–churchianity–has been in use for more than 100 years. Rats, thought I was being original.

Ok, assuming that Jesus was right when He said, “I will build my church” and the Apostle Paul was accurately inspired by the Holy Spirit when he explained that the church is the Body of Christ and that the Apostle James was likewise inspired when he said the church was the bride of Christ..why do so many people have a negative attitude toward church?

I think there’s a difference between radical Christ-following and what passes as a culture Christianity in the average american worshiping community.  I’d really like to get some feedback–what do you think churchianity is and why do you think a lot of people are down on church?
