Serving Like Jesus

I’m so proud of our church…Becoming like Jesus means becoming a servant and it’s awesome to see how so many stepped up to serve in a recent event.
Last week we hosted the district assembly for the Northern California Church of the Nazarene. That meant from Wednesday through Friday night we had several hundred extra people, from 60+ churches, using the facility. Many, many of you were involved in the clean up ahead of time. Many others were tirelessly serving wherever needed.
After the dust had settled—and I guess it’s still settling—I’m hearing such good reports about how well it all went. Three of the key district level leaders made the comment: “We really appreciated the support and service they received during the week”. Another longtime member of this local Body of believers said the place looked great. Hallelujah—we honor God by how we take care of his stuff. Someone from the district office made this observation: “The church looked great, the members were helpful and all seemed to have a memorable assembly and conventions too. The flowers were beautiful, everything looked very clean and the staff was FABULOUS!!! We are truly blessed.”
Pastor James and a brother or two from our Korean Congregation worked hard to get the office and Building 1000 (Jones) into shape. One of the men from his congregation did some tree trimming and gutter cleaning as well. Pastor Hengkie was in Indonesia but his congregation came through clearing out and cleaning up the gym (Blgd 4000) and Pastor Martin had some brothers painting and patching wherever needed—and landscaping too!
