Genuine

Standing in the cockpit catching the dying winds of the fading day I asked him, “What do you think of church?” I really wanted to know because this man didn’t do church on a regular basis. Maybe only a handful of times in his life.

“I’ve been to some others, but I like yours.” I asked him why. He explained that in the other churches he’d been to it felt political; people making comments about other people, putting them down, judging them.

“It’s not supposed to be like that,” I told him.

“At your church, everybody was smiling and friendly. I didn’t feel judged. It seemed genuine.”

“That’s how it’s supposed to be,” I told him.

Way to go church! You are the embodiment of the love of Christ. Shine on!
